    Thomas McCorry’s extensive career spans over two decades in the global beverage industry, during which he has been instrumental in shaping Constellation Brands' financial success. As one of the leading global beer, wine, and spirits producers, Constellation Brands includes well-known brands such as Corona, Modelo, and Svedka. McCorry’s contributions across various financial leadership roles helped steer the company toward sustained growth and profitability, making him a highly respected executive in the industry.

     

    With a proven track record in strategic financial planning, process optimization, and operational efficiency, McCorry’s career is marked by his ability to lead teams, manage complex financial operations, and deliver business results. Throughout his tenure at Constellation, McCorry consistently demonstrated his ability to innovate and drive positive change in the company’s financial strategies.

     

    Early Career and Rise at Constellation Brands

     

    McCorry’s journey with Constellation Brands began in 2004 when he joined as a Director in Global Accounting. In this role, McCorry oversaw the company’s accounting processes. His work was pivotal in streamlining operations and improving efficiency. Recognizing his leadership abilities, the company promoted McCorry to Vice President of Global Accounting, where he took charge of the global consolidated accounting close process for the company’s $3.6 billion operations.

     

    During his time in this role, McCorry focused on improving financial reporting timelines and processes. One of his key achievements was reducing the time required to close financial books by eight days, significantly improving reporting accuracy and efficiency. His work also included the development of global cash flow reporting processes, allowing for multi-currency statement consolidation and reducing preparation time by 10 days. These changes enhanced compliance, transparency, and the overall quality of financial operations, enabling Constellation to navigate its global presence better.

     

    In addition to improving operational efficiency, McCorry led extensive accounting research on complex transactions, including acquisitions and divestitures. His expertise in these areas was critical in managing large transactions and reducing reliance on external consultants. He was essential in developing global accounting policies and standardizing financial processes across the company’s various divisions. His efforts in centralizing global intercompany transaction processing helped reduce errors and streamline operations, further strengthening the company’s financial controls.

     

    Strategic Financial Leadership in Wine & Spirits

     

    In 2012, McCorry transitioned to a critical leadership role within Constellation’s Wine & Spirits division, serving as Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). In this capacity, he oversaw the financial planning and strategy for the U.S. Wines & Spirits business, which generated $2.7 billion in profit. McCorry was critical in guiding the economic strategy to align with the division’s broader growth and market expansion objectives.

     

    One of McCorry’s significant accomplishments was centralizing approximately $150 million in non-price investments and implementing a zero-based budgeting process. This initiative improved visibility and alignment with the company’s critical commercial priorities, allowing Constellation to achieve more efficient investments and deliver a higher return on capital. McCorry’s efforts also included overseeing financial forecasting, monthly closings, and reporting, which provided actionable insights to the sales leadership team, helping them align economic performance with commercial goals.

     

    McCorry’s work also introduced innovative financial metrics and a cloud-based forecasting solution, which improved forecast accuracy by integrating regional sales data and market trends. He reorganized the sales finance function, creating a shared services model that streamlined processes and supported organic growth and acquisitions. His leadership was integral in helping Constellation optimize its investments and drive operational efficiency.

     

    CFO Leadership in the Beer Division

     

    In 2021, Thomas McCorry was promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Beer Division, Constellation’s most significant business segment, with $8 billion in revenue and nearly $3 billion in profit. This role required McCorry to lead the company’s financial strategy in a rapidly evolving and competitive market. He oversaw optimizing capital investments, streamlining operations, and improving profitability.

     

    One of McCorry’s standout achievements in this role was reducing planned capacity investments by $1.5 billion over three years. This was accomplished through better alignment of commercial demand with supply planning and engineering efforts, ultimately leading to a 30% reduction in capital expenditures. His leadership in this area improved Constellation’s margins and ensured that capital resources were used more efficiently.

     

    Beyond financial outcomes, McCorry also focused on enhancing employee engagement within the finance organization. He implemented Constellation’s first expatriate program, which increased employee engagement scores by 8 points and helped reduce turnover. McCorry’s strategic planning also involved redefining the company’s integrated business planning process, improving alignment across departments, and enhancing focus on critical strategic initiatives.

     

    Community Engagement and Philanthropy

     

    Outside of his corporate career, McCorry has demonstrated a solid commitment to giving back to his community. He serves as a Board Member, Table Sponsor, and Capital Contributor at Villa of Hope in Rochester, New York. This organization provides services for individuals and families facing mental health, addiction, and behavioral challenges. He is also involved with the Catholic Family Center in Rochester, serving on its Finance Committee.

     

    McCorry’s philanthropic contributions include establishing the McCorry Impact Scholarship at his alma mater, SUNY Geneseo, to support needy students. He has also contributed to the Portraits of Hope Gala and the University of Rochester Medical Center. He volunteers at the House of Mercy, a homeless shelter in Rochester.

     

    Educational Background and Personal Life

     

    McCorry graduated from SUNY Geneseo in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He became a Certified Public Accountant in New York State in 2001 and completed an Executive Development Program at Dartmouth College in 2012.

     

    Originally from Brooklyn, New York, McCorry is the youngest of six children. He attended Xaverian High School before starting his college career. He enjoys running, traveling, and spending time at the beach with his wife, Jennifer, and their two children, Ainslie and Claire, along with their yellow lab, Rocky.
